FAQs
Clear answers before you book.
Practical information about quotations, preparation and the A&J process.
Quotation and scope
Do you provide a free quotation?
Yes. Share the property type, areas to be painted, photos and any wall concerns. We will advise whether photos are enough or an on-site viewing is needed before confirming the scope and quotation.
Why is an on-site viewing sometimes needed?
Wall condition, access, furniture, height work, colour changes, repairs and surface treatment can affect the preparation needed. A viewing helps ensure the quotation reflects the work rather than a generic package.
Can you give a price before viewing the property?
We can give an initial indication from photos and project details. The final price is based on the agreed scope, including preparation and any additional treatment required.
During the work
Can you paint an occupied home?
Yes. We plan the work around the space being lived in, including the areas to be painted, furniture protection, access and practical working arrangements.
What preparation and protection are included?
The agreed scope may include protecting furniture and floors, masking skirting and power points, and assessing crack lines, screw holes, stains, peeling paint or mould. The exact preparation is confirmed before work begins because wall conditions differ from home to home.
Do you repair cracks, holes, peeling paint or mould?
We assess these conditions and recommend the appropriate repair, primer, sealer or mould treatment as part of the scope where needed. It is stated clearly in the quotation.
Which paint brands and how many coats do you use?
Paint recommendations depend on the surface condition, room use and selected colour. The quotation states the agreed paint system and preparation.
How long will the painting take?
Timing depends on property size, access, drying time, wall condition, repairs and the agreed scope. A practical schedule is confirmed with the quotation.
Confidence and aftercare
Do you use subcontractors?
Residential painting is completed by A&J’s regular team, with work overseen for consistent workmanship and communication.
Is there a workmanship warranty?
A&J provides an 18-month workmanship warranty for eligible quoted and paid-for painting work. It covers confirmed defects in A&J’s preparation or application that cause premature coating failure. It does not cover building defects, water ingress, dampness, mould, normal wear, damage or conditions outside A&J’s control. Read the full workmanship warranty.
Which parts of Singapore do you serve?
A&J serves homes and practical commercial spaces across Singapore, subject to scope and scheduling.
