PREPARATION & PLANNING GUIDE
A room-by-room checklist before your repaint
Getting your home ready for painting doesn't have to be overwhelming. While our team handles all the heavy lifting, furniture shifting, and plastic wrapping on painting day, doing a few simple prep steps room by room helps the job run even smoother and faster. Here is a quick, practical checklist to get your flat or condo ready before we arrive.
General Checklist for All Rooms
A few basic tasks apply across your whole home before the painters start work:
Clear Wall Accessories
Take down wall clocks, hanging photos, photo frames, and calendars. Let us know if you want the existing nail holes patched over or saved.
Store Small Valuables
Pack away loose trinkets, small electronics, jewelry, and fragile display items into drawers or boxes so they stay safe from dust.
Unplug Electronics
Unplug extension strips, TV cables, and routers along the baseboards so we can move cables freely and lay down protective floor sheets easily.
Keep Pathways Clear
Ensure main walkways and doorways aren't blocked by shoes or laundry baskets so our team can move ladders and paint tubs safely.
Room-by-Room Specific Checklist
Different areas of a Singapore home need slightly different preparation depending on how they are used:
1
Living Room & Dining Area
Clear off table tops, sideboards, and open display shelves. Move small accent chairs or coffee tables toward the center of the room. Don't worry about heavy sofas, TV consoles, or dining tables—we will shift and wrap those for you!
2
Bedrooms
Remove bedding, pillows, and blankets to prevent dust settling on them. Clear off nightstands and vanity tops. If we are painting inside built-in wardrobes or bedroom doors, leave a little space around the door frames.
3
Kitchen & Service Yard
Clear counter tops of small appliances like air fryers, kettles, and dish racks. Store away exposed spices or foodstuffs into cabinets. Unhang laundry hanging from ceiling racks so we have clear access to the ceiling.
4
Bathrooms & Toilets
Take down towels, hanging organizers, shampoo bottles, and bath mats. Make sure the toilet ceiling and walls are dry on the morning of painting so sealer or anti-mould paint can adhere properly.
